Hurth's new work for her solo exhibition “Private handbags May Not Be Carried When On Duty” At Württembergischer Kunstverein, Stuttgart (18.10.2025-22.03.2026) is based on her examination of the third Majdanek trial, which began 30 years
after the Second World War and lasted from 1975 to 1981 at the Düsseldorf Regional Court.
In addition to the court records and their linguistic figures and tropes, Hurth draws on photographs by Friedhelm Zingler, in particular a series of remarkable images of female defendants who, in the corridors of the regional court, visibly strive to escape the gaze of those present and the cameras by holding up umbrellas.
