On-going collection of the first edition of the book “Frau Im Mond”, Thea von Harbou, 1928.
The collection started 2010 while investigating the relationship between the countdown to zero and the last silent movie made by Fritz Land “Woman in the Moon” which script was written by his then partner Thea von Harbou.
This little red-pink book tells the love story between a man and a woman in the backdrop of moon race and rocketry. The script and the sketches around the book and the film were later confiscated by the Gestapo and were the basis for the Nazi development of the V2. The V2 was later developed by German scientists such as Wernher von Braun in the USA and led to the moon landing.
The faded books collected together questions the science and fiction and the notion of container for narratives.
